Webandcrafts - Strapi Partnership

Inscribing the mottos ‘Design’, 'Build', and ‘Market’ into the digital arena, WAC drives inspiration from nature to give wings to the aspirations of businesses. With the adoption of top-notch technologies and expertise, along with more than a decade of experience, we have been able to provide our clients with the fullest potential for website and mobile app development.

Over the past two years, WAC has been engaged in serving various businesses with the power of Strapi, particularly those clients who wanted a highly flexible and customisable website. Webandcrafts has gained expertise over the years in providing Strapi development services to build websites with the high-end customisation features of the headless CMS.

Strapi became our prime choice as it provides a user-centric admin panel that lets administrators and editors define and manage various types of content. It offers a highly customisable solution to let developers craft websites and web applications that facilitate ease of content management and delivery, replacing the need for conventional monolithic CMS.

When we sought a complete revamp and decided to develop a website that aligned with the current standards, we didn’t think of any second option. Through a ‘Strapi’ edge, WAC wanted to enable the creation of scalable websites and applications. While using Next.js for the front-end, we used Strapi for the backend website development, which was the fastest, most secure, most flexible, and most convenient to customise.

    Overview of Strapi

Strapi is an open-source and JavaScript built content management system. Users can either opt for self-hosting within their own environment or choose the Strapi cloud, which is a full-fledged managed solution that offers additional features.

Strapi provides customisation and flexibility with content modelling. It incorporates an intuitive content type builder that enables marketers to create reusable yet dynamic content components. The source code for this feature is accessible on GitHub and can be customised to cater to unique business needs.

Other features of Strapi include media file support, easy-to-use editor, in-built email provider, automatic backups, visual editing, and seamless extensibility through multi-database support, plugins, REST APIs, GraphQL, etc.

Strapi serves businesses of all sizes: It lets small businesses that have budgetary constraints opt for a self-hosted community plan that offers a core set of features. Based on the preferences of hosting, larger organisations can opt for either a self-hosted plan or a fully managed plan.

WAC and Strapi: How Does This Magical Duo Work?

    Usability

Strapi is one of the most viable options in terms of its user friendliness and sleek interface, which makes content creation and modelling simpler. Whether you need to define a collection type for grouping various pages together, create a home page, or utilise custom fields to make the editing experience personalised, Strapi has got a solution for all these. The WAC and Strapi partnership is an ideal way to create a developer-friendly platform that encompasses the potential to make integrations easy with high flexibility.

    Open-source

Strapi is open-source software with an MIT license. Deployment and scaling of Strapi within your ecosystem require vigilant capacity planning, fine-tuning, and configuration. Considering the scalability and performance out–box, you can opt for deployment in the Strapi Cloud.

    Content Modelling

With the Strapi partnership, WAC was successful in defining a composable content model that is easy and effective to manage. But this doesn’t provide the native support required for content modelling through code. It offers a GraphQL API to enable simplified sorting, filtering and pagination, along with the Query Engine API, which lets developers get involved in database interaction at a more granular level.

    Performance

Strapi Cloud improves on-demand scalability and offers impressive performance. With a self-hosted option, the levels of performance and scalability can be determined through the infrastructure on which Strapi is operated. As Strapi is not built for the purpose of operating on a serverless platform, it demands extra configurations and customisations to exhibit comparable performance.

    Customisability

Through the Strapi partnership, WAC has emerged as a credible provider with the ability to deploy source code customisation, regardless of whether you host it yourself or on the Strapi cloud. Also, it includes a mature marketplace that makes it effortless for non-technical teams to enhance functionality through plugins.

    Community Support

Strapi supports a highly established community of developers and creators accessible through Discord and the other forums on the official website. It offers comprehensive documentation that helps non-technical users and developers alike. Strapi offers technical assistance to enterprise customers with SLAs.

    Integration Ecosystem

Being an API-first and open-source CMS, Strapi has a great integration ecosystem. The robust ecosystem of Strapi enables hundreds of plugins to contribute to various enterprise use cases. Additionally, you also have the option to build your own plugins.

    Security

Strapi Cloud accommodates various compliance and security controls to keep the data secure, which include SSO, automated backups, audit logs, and review workflows. The partnership with Strapi also opens up ways to avail of a few configurable security-centric features, which include authentication and encryption

WAC-Strapi Partnership: Paving a New Path for Headless CMS

After the development of our dream website, we rolled out campaigns and revealed to the world the joy of turning our expectations into a reality. Social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X were painted with the colours of success that made our website development palette vibrant.

Our post on ‘X’ caught the attention of Pierre Burgy, co-founder and CEO of Strapi, who reposted it with the following comment: “A match made in heaven! Nextjs + Strapijs,” which was a milestone that contributed greatly to our partnership with Strapi.

Our subsequent post mentioning Pierre Burgy and Guillermo Rauch (CEO, Next.js) on LinkedIn created the waves of excitement and confidence that followed. After Pierre noticed our LinkedIn post, we got in touch with him and connected with him on LinkedIn, which gave us the opportunity to discuss and decide on the partnership with the tech giant.

    Strapi partnership

Within one week after our post went live, we scheduled the partnership call, and we finally made it truly inspiring with the successful WAC-Strapi Collaboration. Our Founder & Managing Director Abin Jose Tom, CEO Jilu Joseph, Bibin Dominic Tom, CTO Vinoth Kumar Bala, and Strapi Team Lead Jomit Jose were present over the call and extended their gratitude and expressed their pride in partnering with Strapi for the delightful future ahead.

We are proud to be one of the four Strapi solution partners from India, and this achievement has made our digital journey even more meaningful and optimistic. The WAC Strapi Partner Page has been a reflection of major innovation and an ultimate solution for our quest to get better at what we do.

With a pool of experts proficient in building, managing, and contributing the best to our website, while integrating the versatile functionalities of Strapi, we were able to rediscover the potential of the headless content management platform for our business.
